Yesterday Kerri O’Brien of WRIC attended the combined board hearing and created the following segment for the 5 & 6:00 news:
We are in the process of requesting the full roll from the hearing. If we’re able to obtain it, we’ll post it here with their permission.

Thanks to Kerri O’Brien for her astute observations about the differences between
DHR Staff and the Forest Hill Historic Designation Committee–especially, DHR’s
desire to exclude the section east of 41st St. One must question what is behind such an armored attack against Forest Hill’s eastern boundary including the five 1920s Craftsman/Bungalows at the corner of Roanoke St, the 1920s and 30s houses on Brookside Rd., the apartments built in 1961 across from the Park, and
the 18 houses on Sharon Court built in the 1950s and 1960s–all completed by
1963 except 1. Of 53 buildings east of 41st St, all are 50 years old except except 3.
The construction of these buildings and their architectural style are similar to those
included in the Forest Hill Historic District.
This area along with the Park has always been part of the Forest Hill Neighborhood.
They should be included in the Forest Hill Historic District.
